Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Faith Oakland

I am in my 23rd year serving young adults through several capacities in education. Currently, my courses include English III (juniors), English IV (seniors), Composition 110 (dual credit through Williston State College), and Composition 120 (dual credit through Williston State College).

I graduated from Fairview High School in 1983. My college education includes a B.S. in Business Education with a minor in journalism (Dickinson State University, Dickinson, ND 1991), a B.S. in English Education (Dickinson State University, Dickinson, ND 1993), an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (University of Mary, Bismarck, ND 2016), and an M. Ed. in English (Valley City State University, Valley City, ND 2018).

In addition to working with students in the classroom, I am the Junior Class Advisor, Speech and Drama Coach, Honor Society Coordinator, and Curriculum Coordinator. Wearing many hats in this district has afforded me the opportunity to get to know the students and community members better.

Working along side Mrs. Hopes and Mr. Hardy, my goal is to fully emmerse Fairview Schools in the Farm to School and Beef to School programs. Both of these programs promote the use of locally grown products to enhance the nutritional intake of our students. We are in the developmental stage of the process; however, our garden is plowed, our share tables are in use, and our classroom garden boxes are almost ready for distribution. Stay tuned for more information!

I love spending my free time with my husband, children and grandchildren. When time permits, I can be found in front of my sewing machine making bags, quilts, or blankets (everyone needs a hobby, right?).

If you need to contact me, I can be reached at or 406-745-5265.
