Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Jim Hardy
My name is Jim Hardy, and I have been involved with the school for the last 15 years. I have lived in Fairview, Montana for the majority of my life. I went to college in Dillon, Montana at Western Montana College. I came back to Fairview in 1998 to work full time on my farm, and before that, I worked in California as a teacher and in Bismark running an insurance agency.
I am married to Mary Hardy, a former FHS graduate, and together we have six children (Cory, Greg, Katie, Ben, Pat, and Paul), and four grandkids. Four of my kids graduated from FHS, and my daughter Katie works here as a PE teacher. Along with teaching, I have been fortunate enough to coach boys' basketball with Luke Kloker. In more recent years, I've coached girls' basketball with Jacquelyn Free and my daughter Katie Hurley. Katie and I also worked together coaching high school track. My youngest son Paul is currently a sophomore at FHS and is involved in football, basketball, track, and is the class president.
Here at FHS, I teach the Vo-Ag classes. I feel agriculture is essential in our school system because a big part of our local economy is agriculturally based. The knowledge I try to give the students is in production agriculture, marketing, agriculture business, general agriculture mechanics, welding, and construction.
