Greetings Fairview Students and Parents,
It has been a very interesting week in the world of education. I appreciate all of your patience as we work through this unprecedented time in our world and specifically with schools and learning.
I am sharing with you the plan for next week. As you know, the governor has canceled school but we are moving forward with off-site and on-line learning. By now, you should have received your packets, assignments, Chromebooks, and other materials you need to work from off-site for next week.
Students in grades K-5 will be contacted by their teacher to set up an individual time to meet with each teacher sometime early next week. We are asking that teachers meet with students twice a week through on-line forum or by phone. We are also working to set up a "specials" schedule for K-5 students for music, library, guidance, fitness, technology, and art. Teachers are available for questions anytime from 8am-4pm through email and they will also let you know their "office hours" if you need to speak directly to them.
Students in Grades 6-12, the schedule will be as follows:
Period 1 8:00am-9:00am
Period 2 9:00am-10:00am
Period 3 10:00am-11:00am
Period 4 11:00am-12:00am
Period 5 8:00am-9:00am
Period 6 9:00am-10:00am
Period 7 10:00am-11:00am
Students: You are expected to be on-line (or on phone) during the scheduled class times or you will be marked absent. You will receive an invitation to the classes (Google Meet/Hangouts) through your email. Your teachers will be checking in on your progress, reteaching, providing support, and giving you an opportunity to ask questions. It will be up to your teachers how long you need to be on-line during that period.
For those students who do not have internet capabilities, the teachers will be in touch with you on how to proceed and what the expectations will be.
*Teachers will be available from 1:00pm-3:30pm with "Office hours" if you need more support or if you have questions beyond the regular class times. Please contact them through email.
If parents or students have any other questions, please contact Mr. Skinner (email@example.com), Mr. Thompson (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Mr. Kloker (email@example.com).
Thanks, and stay safe.
