Jon Skinner

Juniors and seniors in Mrs. Oakland’s morning classes recently had the opportunity to hear from Jon Skinner and Carson Quinnell of Stockman Bank, who delivered an engaging presentation titled “What I Wish I Would’ve Known.” Their message focused on the importance of starting a retirement plan early, emphasizing that even small investments can grow significantly over time. As Mr. Skinner shared, “The best plan is the one you start today.” Through the concept of the Wealth Multiplier, students learned that each dollar invested at age 20 could grow to $88, compared to just $7 if started at age 45. The presenters also encouraged students to “pay yourself” by treating savings like a regular expense, similar to a cellphone bill, helping build strong financial habits for the future.
